MURFREESBORO, TN, January 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tommy L. Preston has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are taken into account during the selection process. His career is described as "eclectic." His firm has been rated "one of the top 12 strategic counseling agencies, one of the 10 most innovative and one of the eight hot issue agencies in the U.S." – Inside PR of New York, agency report card.
In 1956 Mr. Preston gained a University of Kentucky journalism degree concurrent with a U.S. Army commission. Three days later he was the Commonwealth's youngest professional newspaper editor –for nine months. Active military duty summoned. After completing the Army's Armor School he soon had charge of a 367-man detachment. At that time 2nd Lt. Preston, began preparing for additional duties. He completed chemical/biological/radiological warfare courses, studied propaganda, while creating a unit to defy Cold War enemy agents. Doing so meant precise time-management between command duties and new skill-set preparation. This introduction to counterterrorism resulted in foreign and domestic roles as a soldier and civilian. They continue today. They also helped validate a 2008 appointment as Executive Director for Kentucky's Office of Homeland Security, as well as Mr. Preston's 2009 invitation from the U.S. Army War College to participate in its National Security program.
Mr. Preston's longest tenure remains. He is CEO of a consultancy formed in 1968. In 2021 the firm was retitled ForeseeNow, a Preston Global extension. An FSN brand illustrates on-going pathfinding aimed at maintaining case management and technique preeminence. Specialists concentrate on prevention of, or response to crises, emergencies, public issues, violence, terrorism, and false rumors. Protecting client reputation is paramount. Internally devised vulnerability analyses include behavioral science findings, persuasive communication features, and reviews of previous cases covering more than a half-century.
FSN applies unique applications merging Heuristic Education [the ancient Greek philosophy of self-discovery] with "Superior Foreseeability." Designed to mitigate severe business dilemmas, these new measures allow more accurate expectations of another's adversarial actions in different situations at diverse times. Positive outcomes extend beyond 40 states, the District of Columbia and overseas.
Mr. Preston also owned award-winning newspapers, was a national magazine executive editor, and invested in other enterprises, including organizing a financial institution. Honors include selection into the U.K. Hall of Distinguished Alumni, lifetime achievement awards, military public service recognitions, and placement on the Florida Public Relations Association Wall of Fame for integrating counterterrorism into the public relations field. He holds the Public Relations Society of America's accreditation and "College of Fellow" titles. Family inspirations continue.
"My WW II combat veteran dad eventually earned his professional civil engineering degree without attending college. By personal example, he and mother stressed values from their robust work ethic," Mr. Preston recalls. A son, Matthew, has devoted almost 30 years to the United States Secret Service. "There's no comparison between my deeds and Matt's noteworthy feats as a Special Agent protecting our national interests. He wins!" Also recalled is the late Vernon Mackenzie, a European theater war correspondent." He immersed me in qualitative forecasting." The professor's rigor and vision of the future ignited much of his lifelong pioneering spirit.
