Growing up in Eastern Europe. Ms. Kosta Di Nova was always interested in international trade and business. As her country presented restrictions and limited educational opportunities, she decided to finish her studies in the United States after earning a graduate degree from Vanra Economic University. In the United States, she attended Southern Illinois University on a Fulbright scholarship and, later, received a master's degree in international business from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in 1998.
Throughout her career, Ms. Kosta Di Nova went on to hold numerous positions within the field of international business, particularly with several multinational companies' headquarters, subsidiaries and government agencies. Additionally, she established an import/export management company in Europe before owning an export management company in the United States. Since 2000, Ms. Kosta Di Nova has excelled with Transcon Trading Company, Inc. in several positions. In 2011, while serving as owner, president, and chief executive officer, she was also named board chair.
In addition to her primary duties, Ms. Kosta Di Nova also served as an adjunct professor in the undergraduate international business program at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina for 14 years. where she taught two classes per week. As a testament to her professional prowess, she was entrusted to provide a testimony at Capitol Hill to the Senate Banking Committee on the Ex-Im Bank reauthorization for her company's work with the Ex-Im Bank. She was also an invited speaker at the Global Pet Forum in China, where she spoke about the pet industry and its globalization. She maintains professional affiliation with the South Carolina World's Affairs Council, the American Pet Products Association, the National Small Business Association and its Small Business Exporters Association, and the South Carolina District Export Council as part of the national DEC.
In her position at Transcon Trading Company, Inc., Ms. Kosta Di Nova strives to provide opportunities for staff and their families by bringing innovative products to Transcon's exclusive brands portfolio. As a professor, she has been especially proud of her ability to impart knowledge and experience onto her international business students. In 2021, Ms. Kosta Di Nova was presented with the South Carolina Women in Business Award by Greenville Business Magazine. She has attributed her professional success to her determination, passion and love for her work. Looking toward the future, she plans to pass down her responsibilities to her successors. She would also like to focus on volunteering within her community.
