FALL RIVER, MA, January 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paula D. Kaylor has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Kaylor earned a Bachelor of Arts from North Adams State College in 1984, after which she attained a Master of Education from Cambridge College in 2005. She has served as a certified teacher from Southeastern Massachusetts University since 1986. She initially began her career in 1986 as a substitute teacher. She then worked at Edmund P. Talbot Middle School from 1993 until 2009, after which she moved to Fonseca Elementary School. In 2013, Ms. Kaylor started teaching at BMC Durfee High School, where she continues today. She is also currently on the board of directors of the BMC Durfee High School Alumni Association.
In her present role, Ms. Kaylor is responsible for teaching high school English college preparation classes. She also served as the district recertification consultant, standards-based unit facilitator and a member of the district curriculum leadership team. As part of her commitment to her field, she is a member of several education organizations. These include the Fall River Teachers Association, the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Education Association. Ms. Kaylor previously served as the president for the Fall River Evening Lions and the Boys and Girls Club of Fall River Alumni Association.
In recognition of her integrity and dedication to teaching, Ms. Kaylor was awarded with the Middle School Lions Grant and the Golden Apple Award in 1996. Likewise, she was bestowed with the Kappa Rose Award from the Kappa Delta Phi Sorority in 2000 and the City Recognition Award in 2004.
Having known most of her students since they were in elementary school, Ms. Kaylor prides herself on being straightforward with her pupils and giving them the opportunity to improve at their own pace. She plans to retire from teaching and looks forward to welcoming another grandchild in June 2022. Additionally, Ms. Kaylor anticipates earning a captain's license to sail the seas and travel more often.
