DENTON, NC, January 19, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter H. Evans, CPG, has been included in the Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals are selected based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process.
Mr. Evans earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geology with a minor in engineering from North Carolina State University in 1971. His career has included both domestic and international mineral exploration, mine permitting, development and operations. Responsibilities included exploration, engineering, and mine management. He began his career as assistant state mining engineer with the state of North Carolina. In 1974 he joined Gulf Resources & Chemical Corp. as a mining engineer and exploration geologist at their lithium mine in Bessemer City, NC and later exploring for zinc deposits in middle Tennessee.
In 1980 he joined Kennecott as a Senior Project Geologist directing a base and precious metal exploration program in the southeastern US. Here he recruited and supervised an exploration team that discovered two significant gold deposits near Ridgeway, SC. He managed the property acquisition, exploration and evaluation of the Ridgeway gold deposits from initial discovery, through a positive feasibility study delineating 1.5 million recoverable ounces of gold. In 1986 he joined the operations team to assist with permitting and development of the mine, first as engineering manager and later as mine manager.
In 1993 he became Exploration Manager for Central America and the Caribbean region for Kennecott. In 1996 he joined Ecuadorian Minerals Corp. as Vice President of Exploration for South America. In 1998 he returned to North Carolina and formed Triangle Minerals, Inc. to continue exploration in the southeastern US where he served as President and CEO. In 2010 he worked as a consultant with Revolution Resources assisting them with land acquisition, project logistics and permitting on high priority exploration targets in NC and GA.
From 2012 to present he has worked with Carolina Gold Resources as a Senior Consultant assisting them with land acquisition, permitting, project logistics and public relations. He is also broker/owner of Carolina Land and Lake Realty, Inc. His background in real estate has helped with leasing land for mineral exploration.
He has been certified as a professional geologist by the American Institute of Professional Geologists.
He became interested in geology as a child collecting quartz crystals near his home in High Point, NC with his best friend. His great grandfather, George Edgar Ladd, was a renowned geologist and college president. Although he is semi-retired, he enjoys staying involved and hopes to be able to assist with the discovery and development of another significant gold deposit.
