EUREKA, MT, January 19, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Denikka Miller has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
As the first member of her family to graduate from high school, Ms. Miller was determined to continue her education. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in language arts, with a minor in reading, from the University of Montana Western in 2005 and a Masters in Special Education K-12 education from Montana State University-Billings in 2017. Ms. Miller also holds a library endorsement and an endorsement in Educational Leadership.
Before receiving her graduate degree, Ms. Miller entered her field as a language arts teacher in 2006 and soon moved on to high school education at Troy Public Schools. In her seventh year of teaching, an administrator suggested she explore special education. She researched the field and decided to enroll in a program, which led to her graduate degree specialty. Ms. Miller initially became a special education teacher to help the district as they were lacking in special education teachers at the time. She soon fell in love with the field and has now worked as the only high school special education teacher in her district at Lincoln County High School, where she serves grades 9 through 12 and handles a caseload of 22 students.
In her current position, Ms. Miller strives to create individualized education plans for each student based upon their needs and abilities. She performs one-on-one lessons with students while teaching language arts in the classroom and working closely with families to support her students' success and development. In addition, she attends general classes with struggling learners to ensure they receive a well-rounded educational experience.
As an accomplished educator, Ms. Miller received a scholarship award from the Montana Association of Secondary School Principals. Over the years, she has attributed her professional success to the challenges she overcame in life. Although many people doubted her as the first individual in her family to graduate from high school, she was internally motivated to prove herself and represent her family. Additionally, she has received continuous support from her husband, whom she has known since high school.
As a dedicated member of her community, Ms. Miller is involved with the leadership committee at Lincoln County High School, the Lion's Den Booster Club, the Hands of Hope board, and as regional coordinator of Education First. She is also a member of the National Council of Exceptional Children. In the coming years, Ms. Miller plans to grow into a leadership role as director of special education. She would also like to help other educators be the best in their own respective careers.
