Prior to embarking upon his career as a doctor in family medicine, Dr. Clay earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Walla Walla University in 2012 and went on to attain a Doctor of Medicine from Loma Linda University in 2017. He undertook a residency at the same institution where he completed training in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine, where he was recognized with a Dedicated Service in Leadership Award in 2021 for his work as a Chief Resident. During his residency training, he also completed a Master's in Public Health in Population Medicine. He also participated in the development of the Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum. Well qualified in his field, Dr. Clay has been licensed to practice in California, and has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine with a pending certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

An expert in family, preventative and lifestyle medicines, Dr. Clay plans to lead a lifestyle medicine center and influence the leadership of his local community to inspire a greater commitment to wellness. He had the privilege to work with the San Bernardino County Health Department early in the COVID-19 pandemic, working with outbreaks at skilled nursing facilities and with the health officer in local pandemic response. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Clay notably spent a year in Palau on a student mission, during which time he taught high school science.
