KANSAS CITY, MO, January 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nicholas J. Miller, DO, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Having drawn inspiration from the example of his father, Jay R. Miller, MD, an anesthesiologist, Dr. Miller pursued a career in medicine. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and biology from Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis in 2008, he began conducting clinical research at the Indiana University's Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, where he served for two years under the mentorship of Robert P. Nelson Jr, MD. In 2014, Dr. Miller received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University and subsequently joined Truman Medical Center at the University of Missouri, Kansas City as a resident physician.
Supported by his professional experiences, Dr. Miller excels today as an attending physician for Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Alongside his work in the field, he volunteers with the Medina Clinic, where he has cared for low income and uninsured patients since 2019. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Miller aligns himself with the Society of Hospital Medicine, the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Family Practice, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association and the Missouri State Medical Association.
Due to his considerable knowledge and past clinical research experience, Dr. Miller has published multiple medical articles, as well as given multiple presentations during his time at Truman Medical Center. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud of the palliative conversations he has been privileged to have with patients and their families. Looking toward the future, Dr. Miller intends to continue teaching medical students from Kansas City University and become more involved in medical education.
