A natural caregiver, Ms. Barker was drawn to a career in nursing. She initially earned credentials as a registered nurse from the Sewickley Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1986. Ms. Barker later obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and a master's degree in women's health from the University of Maryland.
Ms. Barker has excelled as a certified registered nurse practitioner for Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital since 2020. In this role, she helps to develop the urogynecology aspect of the women's health program for the hospital and promotes the medical management of urogynecology while treating patients. Previously, Ms. Barker worked with the Chesapeake Urology Associates, for which she had developed an overactive bladder navigation program for patients.
Having led an accomplished career, Ms. Barker was distinguished as the Top Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner of Baltimore by the International Nurses Association. Moreover, she is proud to have developed a necessary program for the Chesapeake Urology Associates that was so successful that she received an invitation to serve as a specialist to help college students with their medical research. In the coming years, Ms. Barker plans to help streamline programs at the Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital for better patient care.
