For more than two decades, Mr. Blonkvist has served as the managing director and financial advisor at RBC Wealth Management in the Midland Texas Office. Joining the organization in 1998, he oversees the Blonkvist Investment Group. Looking toward the future, Mr. Blonkvist has expanded his business into Colorado Springs.
An industry leader for more than 40 years, Mr. Blonkvist began his career as a commercial lender for the audit division of the First National Bank in Midland in 1981. He subsequently worked over 15 years as a financial advisor for E.F. Hutton and Company Inc. in New York, after which he maintained involvement with Shearson Lehman Hutton Inc. and Dean Witter Reynolds. Attributing his early success to the influence of his loving wife, Mr. Blonkvist is likewise proud of his longstanding commitment to integrity, as well as the level of respect he routinely demonstrates for his counterparts in the field.
A visionary and leader behind numerous charitable organizations, Mr. Blonkvist has been actively involved with Make-A-Wish Foundation, West Texas for which he was honored as an honorary chairman. Additionally, he sat on the Boards of the Arts Council Board of Midland, the Midland Ballet and the Museum of the Southwest and Trinity School of Midland. Mr. Blonkvist is also has been a deacon, and now serves as an elder and trustee on behalf of his local Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Blonkvist studied at the University of Mississippi, where he acquired an associate's degree in business administration in 1981. Recognized as a Top Producer in North America by RBC Wealth Management, he has also consistently been named to Barron's 1,200 List every year since 2014, to Forbes 200 every year since 2016, and to Forbes 500 in both 2017 and 2018. Mr. Blonkvist was also recently inducted into the Trinity School Hall of Fame in 2020.
