In 1972, Dr. McLeod earned a doctorate from Mississippi State University.
Dr. McLeod began his career as a minister in 1963, and continues to hold this role into the present day. From 1972 until 1991, he acted as an educator for the Georgia State Schools. From 1988 to 1999, he served as a minister for the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Georgia. In 1991, Dr. McLeod assumed the role of president of Brunswick Financial, a role in which he excelled until 2003. Additionally, from 1993 to 2003, he was employed as the president of the Brunswick Gallery.
A prolific writer, Dr. McLeod is the author of numerous publications, including "Great Dr. Waddel," "A Season of Grace and Going Beyond Literalism," "Presbyterian Tradition in the South," "Flannery O'Connor And Me" and "Little Book of Meditation." Though he has been writing throughout his career, he is most proud to have penned several sermons. Furthermore, Dr. McLeod has been distinguished as a scholar of the National Endowment of Humanities.
