MERIDEN, CT, January 28, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peggy A. Lane has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Lane earned an Associate of Science in mental health from Middlesex Community College, after which she completed coursework in human services and administration at New Hampshire College. She subsequently attained a Master of Social Work in mental health from Southern Connecticut University in 1992. She was also fortunate to train with the faculty and those completing their fellowships in psychiatry at Yale University from 1989 to 1992. Ms. Lane also gained certification as a licensed clinical social worker.
Following these accomplishments, Ms. Lane established her own counseling practice, Alternative Paths Counseling LLC. She and another therapist opened the behavioral health practice in 1992. She was a pioneer in opening the behavioral health practice at the time. Her goal was to offer private, individual and family counseling in a community setting. The practice has grown to include ten therapists at any given time. The practice has offered services to children, adolescents, and adults for 30 years. She oversees the daily operations. Recognizing her talents, Ms. Lane was honored with the Wallingford's Best Counselor Award in 2021.
A member of the National Association of Social Workers, Ms. Lane's expertise lies in behavioral health and addiction. She grew up knowing she wanted to become a social worker, having noticed at a young age how other children cried when leaving their mothers to attend kindergarten classes. She was able to help comfort the other children by engaging them in playing with toys in the classroom. Her teachers took notice. With her persistently optimistic attitude, she was able to assist classmates and became known as a person to go to for help. Inspired by these experiences, Ms. Lane decided to pursue her education with a focus on mental health, human services and social work.
Looking towards the future, Ms. Lane hopes to continue her work as a licensed clinical social worker and business owner. Additionally, she aspires to expand her practice by hiring more therapists to fulfill clinical needs and to attract younger generations to the profession.
