Mrs. Shadwick was named as the High School Teacher of the Year in 2010.
SAINT LOUIS, MO, January 31, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lieda A. Shadwick, MAT, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Originally intent on becoming a certified public accountant, Mrs. Shadwick found through teaching private music lessons, working as a Sunday school teacher, and serving as a substitute teacher in the St. Louis metropolitan area, that she wanted to pursue a career in education. During the early stages of her professional journey, she served as a CTE educator in several rural and suburban high schools in Southern Illinois. She also worked for six years at Riverview Gardens Central Middle School as an assistant girl's basketball coach (3 years) and keyboarding teacher. Drawing on her considerable expertise, Mrs. Shadwick excels today as a CTE educator for Riverview Gardens High School, where she returned in 2019. She previously worked as a CTE educator at Riverview Gardens High School from 2005 to 2010.
A certified educator in Illinois and Missouri, Mrs. Shadwick holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching in Education Technology from Webster University. In accounting for her subsequent success, she credits the joy she feels in watching children grasp the concepts she has taught them, and to have forged personal friendships with many of her former pupils. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Mrs. Shadwick aligns herself with the American Legion, the National Education Association, the Missouri National Education Association and the Association for Career and Technical Education.
In light of her professional achievements, Mrs. Shadwick was named as the High School Teacher of the Year through Riverview Gardens in 2010. While her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud to have served within the military for eight years and to have survived the Gulf War in the early 1990s. Looking toward the future, Mrs. Shadwick aims to continue on the same path and exert a positive impact on her students.
