DENVER, CO, February 01, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joe Dischinger has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Dischinger, a director of Fairfield and Woods, PC, has focused much of his work on environmental law advocacy and the protection of water rights. Serving water clients in matters of water rights evaluation, acquisition, protection and transfers, he also bears a great deal of experience in advising clients regarding environmental compliance and risk allocation, and is highly accomplished in litigation and transactional work. Among other clients, he is General Counsel for the largest mutual ditch company on Colorado's Front Range, which operates four large reservoirs, several smaller reservoirs, and 400 miles of canals. Counseling business owners, ditch companies, government entities, private landowners, real estate developers and environmental firms throughout the state of Colorado, Mr. Dischinger is widely known for his diligence and expertise.
Attributing his nearly four decades of success to his persistence and passion for law, science and engineering, Mr. Dischinger has garnered extensive expertise with Colorado water law and with various state and federal laws, including the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Devoted to finding resolutions for clients and ensuring industry compliance, he plans to shift his focus by training young lawyers at his firm, ensuring that his clients remain loyal to Fairfield and Woods PC long after he retires from the practice. As an extension of his work, Mr. Dischinger has presented several times in his area of expertise, notably before the Ditch and Reservoir Company Alliance's 12th Annual Convention in 2014, the Colorado Bar Association's seminar on "Conflict Resolution in Colorado Water Rights Proceedings" in 2015, and the Colorado Bar Association's "Water Law Spring Update" in 2021.
Well regarded for his experience, Mr. Dischinger is active with the Colorado Bar Association's Water Law Section and the Colorado Water Congress. He is also a former chair of the Colorado Supreme Court Committee on Gender and Justice and the Colorado Supreme Court Task Force on Family-Friendly Courts, and is an elected fellow emeritus of the Colorado Bar Foundation. Perhaps most notably, Mr. Dischinger is the founder and president of the Court Child Care Center, a free service for parents in the state of Colorado that provides childcare for those that have to attend court.
Mr. Dischinger received a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Virginia in 1978, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1982. He has been admitted to practice in all Colorado Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second, 10th and Federal Circuits, as well as the U.S. Tax Court.
Aligned with several industry-related organizations in support of his career, Mr. Dischinger has been active with the Colorado Bar Association as a former vice president and secretary, the former treasurer of the Water and Law Section, and the former chair of the Environmental Law Section. He has also been a member of the environment, energy, and resources section of the American Bar Association, the president and treasurer of the Colorado Environmental Management Society, a past president of the Denver Bar Association and the Thompson G. Marsh American Inns of Court, and a member of the Environmental Law Institute.
Mr. Dischinger has been honored with various awards over the years for his diligence and hard work. Among them, he received a Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award from the Denver Bar Association in 1998, a Champion for Children Award from the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center in 1998, and a Colorado Children's Champion Award from the Colorado Early Childhood Professional Coalition in 2004. He was also honored by the City and County of Denver when Mayor Wellington Webb proclaimed "Joe Dischinger Day" in 1999. Furthermore, Mr. Dischinger has been featured by several leading law publications, such as Colorado Super Lawyers, and was named as Barrister's Best Water Law Lawyer in Law Week Colorado for 2020.
