SCOTTSDALE, AZ, February 03, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Ong Hing, JD has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For more than 60 years, Robert Ong Hing has presided as a renowned figure in the legal field—serving as an attorney, partner, and administrator of his own firm for a majority of his accomplished career. Originally from China, he relocated to the United States at a young age and grew up in a small town in Arizona; he gravitated toward law because, as a minority, he has always been in favor of "the underdog" and felt he could make a real impact by representing and helping those who may not get a fair shake.

But while his heart was in law, Mr. Hing's parents, Ong Chun and Helen, wanted him to become a doctor. An excellent student, when he found that the best medical schools included Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania, he applied and was accepted into all three. He ended up choosing Harvard, where he completed his pre-med requirements and, after deciding that the medical route was not the right fit for him, studied government. Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts from the institution in 1955, he became re-energized by his initial aspirations and enrolled at Harvard Law School—ultimately obtaining a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1958. Equipped with his degrees and an admission to practice law by the state of Arizona, he began his career as an attorney at Stockton & Karam, where he remained for four years under the guidance of his mentor and fellow attorney, Henderson Stockton, before advancing to partner at the firm—which became Stockton & Hing, P.A.—in 1961. Since then, the practice has excelled, predominantly in its mission to provide personalized legal services through complete dedication to its clients and their interests; the firm handles a wide range of cases, from those involving estate planning and corporate law to conservatorships and civil litigation, among several other areas. When Mr. Stockton passed away, Mr. Hing kept his name attached to the practice as a tribute to the man he considered "one of the best trial lawyers."

Wielding a particular expertise in insurance regulatory law, Mr. Hing has drafted laws on insurance policy funds in order to benefit the public, which he considers a highlight of his career. Additionally, in 1983, he won a notable Supreme Court case, involving a civil rights issue, in a 9-0 ruling; has successfully defended an impeached public official, A.P. "Jack Buzard," a member of the Corporation Commission in the Arizona State Senate, resulting in an acquittal of charges filed by the House of Representatives; and was involved in another notable case involving the insolvency of Arizona Savings and Loan. Outside of his primary responsibilities, he also lent his professional know-how to his role as a special legal counsel to the Director of the Arizona Department of Insurance from 1963 to 1965.

"If you take on a case and represent a client," Mr. Hing said, "you should give that client 100 percent."

When he isn't winning cases and consulting with those in need of his legal services, he also acts as the owner and administrator of Hing Properties, Inc., a real estate development company he launched in 1988. He has long believed in the power of real estate and even bought his first property a year after graduating law school; he buys and sells, and currently owns two shopping centers, a few restaurants, and an office building. In addition to his memberships with the American Arbitration Association, American Judicature Society, and Maricopa County Bar Association, he has also been active as an affiliate of the Phoenix District Tennis Association and the founder of both the Scottsdale Racquet Club and Scottsdale Athletic Club.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Hing strives to keep his mind working and take care of his real estate endeavors. Married to his wife Alice for more than 55 years, he hopes to leave behind a legacy of working hard and achieving one's dreams to his seven children, 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
