BETHALTO, IL, February 09, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Zebulon R. Holder has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Holder is currently serving as a K-2 music educator for the Alton #11 Community School District in Alton, Illinois. He lives in Bethalto, Illinois with his wonderful wife Lexi, his son Zeke, and their fur baby Buster. He is currently completing his 13th year in teaching. Mr. Holder initially earned an Associate of Arts in music education from Olney Central College in 2006. He subsequently obtained a Bachelor of Arts in music teacher education from Eastern Illinois University in 2009. Mr. Holder also received a Master of Education in educational leadership and administration from McKendree University in 2012. He is also certified as a teacher evaluator by the Illinois State Board of Education.
In his present role, Mr. Holder teaches music to kindergarten, first grade and second grade students during the week. An expert in general music education, he also operates his own social media page, "Mr. Holder's Music Room." In recognition for his expertise, he was honored with the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2021. The same year, Mr. Holder also received a Senate Proclamation from Illinois State Senator Rachelle Crowe and the House of Representatives Certificate of Recognition from Illinois State Representative Amy Elik.
Mr. Holder began his career as a K-8 vocal and general music teacher for Chester Grade School in 2009. In 2015, he accepted a position at West Elementary School in Alton, Illinois teaching K-5 music. Since 2019, Mr. Holder has served as a K-2 general music educator for the Alton Community Unit School District.
As part of his dedication to music education, Mr. Holder is a member of the Illinois Music Educators Association and serves as the ILMEA District 6 EGM representative. He also serves as a teacher mentor and Golden Apple Fellow for The Golden Apple Foundation in Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Holder was inspired to teach young students music from an early age, originally intending to become a band teacher. As his vocal skills developed, Mr. Holder pursued that area of music further and ultimately decided to teach to pass on his love for music to children through elementary general music.
