Jonathan Brian Wallace Celebrated for Dedication to the Military



    LEAVENWORTH, KS, February 10, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jonathan Brian Wallace has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Wallace was born in Lithia Springs, Georgia. In 2002, he enlisted in the Navy and attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon graduation, he reported to Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Charleston, South Carolina. He was promoted to Machinist Mate Third Class, completed Machinist Mate "A-School" and Nuclear Power School, attended Nuclear Power Training Unit, and was selected for the U.S. Naval Academy commissioning program. In May 2008, then Second Lieutenant Wallace received a B.S. in Quantitative Economics and a minor in Operations Analysis.

Following The Basic School, then First Lieutenant Wallace attended Field Artillery Basic Officer Course and the Marine Artillery Officer Course. He reported to 3d Battalion, 11th Marines at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California. He deployed as Fire Direction Officer and Headquarters Platoon Commander with Battery L, Battalion Landing Team 1/4 in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Upon return from deployment in May 2012, he served as the Battery L Executive Officer and Battalion Assistant Operations Officer. 3d Battalion, 11th Marines was tasked to provide Security Force augmentation units at the end of 2012. Then Captain Wallace was assigned as the lead battalion planner and Battery M Security Force Executive Officer. The battery deployed in September 2013 with Marine Air Group 50 in support of operations in the Middle East. Following deployment, Captain Wallace served as Headquarters Battery Commanding Officer until changing duty stations in May 2014.

Captain Wallace reported to 5th Marine Regiment as the Information Operations Officer. While on the Regiment staff, he served as the Future Operations Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, and Operations Officer. He supported multiple combat readiness evaluations, Exercise DAWN BLITZ, Exercise VALIANT MARK, Exercise SOUTHERN KATIPO, Korean Military Exchange Program, Exercise IRON FIST, and Exercise RIMPAC. In August 2016, Captain Wallace transferred to 11th Marine Regiment.

Following reporting to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines, Captain Wallace was assigned as the Fire Support Officer for 1st Battalion, 5th Marines. In January 2017, Battalion Landing Team 1/5 composited and deployed in support of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. In October 2017, Captain Wallace assumed command of Headquarters and Service Company. The battalion returned from deployment in February 2018. Rather than returning to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines, Captain Wallace was directed to remain at 1st Battalion, 5th Marines until transferring in the summer. In May 2018, he assumed additional duties as the Battalion Executive Officer. He relinquished company command and Battalion Executive Officer duties in July 2018 and transitioned to Tactical Training Exercise Control Group in Twentynine Palms, California.

In August 2018, now Major Wallace was assigned as the Assistant Fires Lead responsible for training Infantry and Artillery Regiments and below on operations and fires. Major Wallace spent the next two years teaching, coaching, and mentoring Marines during live-fire training events in preparation for operational deployment. In June 2020, Major Wallace assumed the role as the Fires Lead, which entailed supervising all fires and operational staff training by TTECG. Additionally, Major Wallace was responsible for developing the service-level training exercise live-fire approach toward integrating emerging fires capabilities in support of the new Marine Corps Force Design. Major Wallace transferred to the Army Command and General Staff School as a student in July 2021.

Major Wallace is married to the former Brittany Ruggels. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and Navy Commendation Medal with two gold stars. Major Wallace also holds a Master in Advanced Studies degree in International Relations from the University of California San Diego.
