Beverly Health Care, Life Care Centers of America, Consulate Health Care and Health Services since 2000. Each corporation offers multiple levels of patient care and service, including more than 200 modern facilities and over 40,000 talented medical professionals over several states. Throughout the course of her career in the health field, she has held such roles as the Vice President of Clinical Services, Divisional director of clinical services, Regional Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing Services and a medical and surgical clinical coordinator at Humana Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee. Likewise, Ms. Watkins served as a nursing instructor at Tennessee Technological University and a Critical Care staff nurse at such medical facilities as the Murfreesboro VA Medical Center and the Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Ms. Watkins was initially drawn to her discipline over the course of her academic efforts, which began at Tennessee State University. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in health and physical education in 1976, she continued her studies in the field of medicine and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1986. Following this accomplishment, Ms. Watkins was recognized as a registered nurse in the state of Tennessee, and later garnered her certification as a Certified Director of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care and a Certified Dementia Practitioner via Life care Centers of America, a healthcare company that specializes in senior living.
Ms. Watkins notably developed various nursing policies and procedures for skilled care at the various facilities and organizations for which she has worked. Furthermore, she is a member of the Tennessee American Nurses Association. Having initially become involved in her field due to her early experiences assisting her grandmother in nursing people back to health, she is incredibly proud to have witnessed the joy on her patient's faces when they were well enough to return to their normal lives. Looking toward the future, Ms. Watkins plans to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
