Observing a growing trend within the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Carrion felt inspired to enter the field. After earning a high school diploma from CROEM Mayaguez, he received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez while serving as a process engineer intern for Eli Lilly and Company and a technical service technician for Johnson & Johnson. Upon graduating, Mr. Carrion became a process development investigator for Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Carrion gained valuable expertise in the field as a manufacturing manager for Procter & Gamble, a plant manager for Colgate Palmolive, a general manager for Millipore Corporation and as the vice president of operations for Carrington Laboratories. Additionally, he received a master's degree in business administration from Universidad Ana G. Mendez. More recently, he worked as a project delivery manager for CSA Group, Architects and Engineers, and as the executive director for Puerto Rico Aqueduct & Sewer Authority. Mr. Carrion excels as the president of CCG Consulting Group, an organization he founded in 2012.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Carrion joined with the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de PR as the President of the Caguas chapter, the Puerto Rico Water & Environment Association and the Water Environmental Federation. For his professional accomplishments, he was named as the Manager of the Year through the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association and earned the You Can Make a Difference Award through Colgate Palmolive for his significant contributions in building a new manufacturing plant for the company in 1998.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Carrion is most proud to have worked in public service for the reconstruction of the P.R. Aqueduct and Sewer Authority infrastructure; and the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority project following Hurricane Maria. At that time, he had accrued a wealth of infrastructure expertise in the field of water and electrical utilities, and his CCG Consulting team was retained to conduct damage assessment and present the damage claims. Eventually, it became the largest FEMA claim in U.S. history for a single applicant, which amounted to more than $10 billion, which led them to become one of the foremost experts on the island in federal funding and grants management. Within the coming years, Mr. Carrion aims to continue supporting the reconstruction and recovery of the island of Puerto Rico and expand the consulting business by another 15%-25% in terms of staffing.
