BRANDON, MS, February 11, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ellen S. Kowalczyk, MAT, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Mrs. Kowalczyk earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and teaching from Belhaven University in 2017 and a Master of Arts in Teaching: English Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She began her career as a youth ministry intern for Briarwood Presbyterian Church in 2015 and as a resident assistant for Belhaven University while pursuing her education. She later worked as an elementary school teacher for McLaurin Elementary School in 2017. In addition to her primary role as a teacher, Mrs. Kowalczyk is also active as the head tennis coach for the McLaurin Attendance Center.
In her present role, Mrs. Kowalczyk teaches reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. She also ensures her students have breakfast and supervises them in the library. In recognition for her work, she was presented with the Best Elementary Teacher Award from Hometown Rankin Magazine in 2019. Mrs. Kowalczyk was also honored as a Teacher as Servant Leader in 2017.
As part of her dedication to teaching, Mrs. Kowalczyk is a member of the Mississippi Professional Educators and the International Literacy Association. Having always wanted to work with children, she prides herself on building positive relationships with her students so they can grow academically and behaviorally. Mrs. Kowalczyk plans to continue working in her current position, focusing on mathematics instruction to make it more interactive and enjoyable for her students.
