With a natural affinity for mathematics and science as well as a passion for the important implications of laboratory work, Ms. Wegner pursued a career as a medical laboratory technician. She initially worked as a medical laboratory assistant for BayCare Health System in 2017. In 2021, Ms. Wegner was recruited to serve as a medical laboratory technician for Bravera Health Seven Rivers.
An expert in medical laboratory technology, Ms. Wegner performs hematology, coagulation, urinalysis and blood bank and assists in chemistry and microbiology in her current role. She has been certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and is currently studying towards a graduate certificate in pathology. She obtained an associate's degree in medical laboratory technology, having graduated with perfect grades, a feat of which she is exceptionally proud. Ms. Wegner also earned an associate's degree in biotechnology from Hillsborough Community College and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida.
Ms. Wegner is presently pursuing a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science and hopes to accrue a doctorate in the future. Throughout her career, she has been presented with numerous awards, including an Alpha Lambda Alpha Distinguished Service Award in addition to an Academic Award in Biotechnology, a Student Excellence Award and Outstanding Academic Excellence from Hillsborough Community College. Ms. Wegner attributes her success to her faith in God and her supportive parents.
