ALLIANCE, OH, February 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raymont Y. Johnson has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Following more than two decades of military service and work as an instructor for the junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) in Washington, D.C. and Maryland, Pastor Johnson transitioned toward the ministry. Becoming the president, founder and chairman of the board of Family Empowerment Ministries Inc. (FEMI) in 2014, the nonprofit organization focuses on uniting and strengthening families through various services and educational opportunities. FEMI also houses a food pantry onsite in honor of Pastor Johnson's late mother. Founded alongside his wife, FEMI originally took shape in Maryland, but has since relocated to Stark County, Ohio, in the town of Alliance.
Shortly after Pastor and Mrs. Johnson relocated, he became founder, lead pastor and the board president of Spirit of Faith Christian Center of Ohio in Alliance in 2014, a non-denominational ministry. The following year, he became a parent engagement coordinator and contractor for the Early Childhood Resource Center, where he served as a life and career coach, facilitator and certified trainer, and a certified Parent Café facilitator until 2019.
Well regarded as a leader in his community for his training, motivational speaking and counseling expertise, Pastor Johnson's goals are to inspire, empower and equip others to accomplish their purpose and passion in life. As part of his work, he raises funds by writing grants, negotiating with various organizations to acquire needed services and attending program meetings. Likewise, Pastor Johnson frequently visits sick patients at his local hospital.
Likewise active as an author, Pastor Johnson published "SO YOU CALL YOURSELF A LEADER: A Simple Guide to Identifying Your Leadership Style" through Xulon Press. The book aims to teach readers how to clarify their purpose by defining six types of leadership. Apart from his nonprofit and ministerial work, Pastor Johnson is involved in real estate and investment opportunities as the founding president and chief executive officer of RBJ Properties Inc.
Among his civic interests, Pastor Johnson successfully launched Lunch with a Leader, an in-school and out-of-school mentoring program that benefits high school and middle school students and provides scholarships. He is also involved with Stark County Fatherhood Coalition and serves as a consultant, mentor and board member for the Stark County Minority Business Association, through which he helps cultivates the talent of minority and underserved entrepreneurs by bringing wealth and job opportunities to their own communities. Additionally, Pastor Johnson is active as a member of Kiwanis Clubs International and the Stark County Family Services planning committee, as well as the vice president of his local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Pastor Johnson served in the U.S. Air Force between 1983 and 2007. After earning an associate degree at Air Force Community College and a second associate degree in general studies at Chicago Community College, he received a Bachelor of Science in business management at the University of Maryland University College. He also completed a Master of Science in organizational leadership at Nyack College in 2010 and a Master of Arts in Christian counseling at Capital Bible Seminary. Pastor Johnson, who was the youngest of eight children growing up, was the first among his siblings to receive a college education.
Bestowed upon Mr. Johnson in 2019 was a Pathfinder Award for Humanitarianism, which recognized both he and his wife for their community service. He also received a Martin Luther King Jr. Award from the University of Mount Union in 2018. For his teachings, he was named as the Outstanding Instructor of the Year by the Air Force Junior ROTC in 2012 and 2009, as well as an Assistant Principal's Award of Excellence from Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland, in 2010. Pastor Johnson's greatest satisfaction, however, has been the motivation he has received from the many lives he has changed while serving throughout the course of his career years.
