Mr. Elm has led a diverse and rewarding career as both an entrepreneur and public servant. Partnering with discoverpc.NET in 2005 as its co-owner, business consultant and support specialist, his company focuses on providing computer sales & I.T. services to clients in matters of cloud services, network infrastructure, installations, repairs, custom-built computers, various information technology services and more. In addition to providing his services to clients, Mr. Elm manages his dedicated and experienced team of computer technicians at his service center and storefront in Superior, Wisconsin, and oversees all other routine functions of the business.
Having lent his expertise to the city council of Superior, Wisconsin, when he was elected to the sixth district seat as a councilor in 2017, Mr. Elm has become highly engaged with several significant committees and commissions. He created and chaired the city's Communications and Information Technology committee, served as the co-chair of the Finance committee, and was active on the city's Plan Commission and the Public Safety committee, as well as the Human Trafficking Task Force Commission. He was also instrumental in numerous other initiatives, including the establishment of Connect Superior, the city's open-access fiber network, as the project's founder. Since joining the city council, Mr. Elm also had the opportunity to serve as the vice president during 2020 and president during 2021.
Mr. Elm's momentous background in technology included a position as web developer for Living Stones News between 2004 and 2012, a free, monthly, non-denominational Christian publication in Duluth, Minnesota. He subsequently garnered another 15 years as a traffic manager and web developer for WWJC Radio 850 AM between 1999 and 2014, a radio station that his grandfather founded.
Aside from the success of his computer solutions company, discoverpc.NET, Mr. Elm has become invested in real estate as both a landlord and property owner since 2015. He is also actively involved with various civic causes as a recognized member of his community, including as a board director for the Development Association, a member of the Superior Business Improvement District, and as a board director and for the Superior Rotary Club 40. Additionally, Mr. Elm is active on the board of directors for the Superior Spooktacular, and as a volunteer for Superior Sister City Commission, National Right to Life and the audio/visual team leader for Great Lakes Church in Duluth.
Mr. Elm's company discoverpc.NET was recognized for his commitments as an entrepreneur with a Best of the Best Award in the Duluth News Tribune in 2021, which was the 5th consecutive award in a row. He also garnered a Best Local Elected Official Award from the Duluth Reader in 2020 and 2021.
