After earning a Bachelor of Arts in child and family development in 1991, Ms. Osborne graduated with a Master of Education in child and family studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2004. She began her career in the classroom while earning her Bachelor's degree, then in 1991, she became a training and curriculum specialist with Robins Air Force Base Child Development Center. Continuing to advance as a leader, Ms. Osborne was appointed as a program coordinator for Bright Horizons in 1994 and the director for Alexander's Children's Center in 1995.
Expanding her skillset, Ms. Osborne served as a licensing consultant for the North Carolina Division of Child Development from 2000 to 2005. In 2006, she started as the online and practicum coordinator for the early childhood education department for Stanly Community College. Since 2019, Ms. Osborne has excelled as the program head for the early childhood education department at Stanly Community College.
In her present position, Ms. Osborne is esteemed as an expert in childhood development and literacy. She strives to identify and establish needs in her community as to provide services to children and families. This includes helping students and teachers in the classroom or looking at ways to support children and families with disabilities in Stanly County. As part of her dedication to her field, Ms. Osborne is active as a member of the North Carolina Early Education Coalition Board and the president of the North Carolina ACCESS of the North Carolina Early Childhood Faculty Association.
Passionate about education, Ms. Osborne was inspired to be an educator to improve education for young students and bring more compassion to the field. In the coming years, she plans to continue her stellar efforts as the program head of the early childhood education department at Stanly Community College and remain an advocate for the field. Moreover, Ms. Osborne hopes to further cement her reputation as a leader in her community.
