Drawing on more than 20 years of project management experience, Mr. Rivera currently serves as the senior manager of facility management at WuXi Biologics. He previously found success as the director of product development for PiSA BioPharm Inc., where he spearheaded the manufacturing of medical devices and pharmaceuticals in accordance with various federal regulations and industry protocols. During this period, Mr. Rivera also oversaw the design and construction of a new ethylene oxide sterilization facility as well as the installation of all essential systems and equipment.
Prior to his recruitment at PiSA BioPharm, Mr. Rivera excelled as an independent contractor and provided a multitude of services for pharmaceutical and chemical companies such as cost estimation, capital appropriation requests and the procurement of laboratory equipment, utilities and facilities. From 2013 until 2015, he was active as a facilities section manager for GlobalFoundries Inc. after working as a maintenance engineer for Curia Global and a project manager for Allergan PLC. Alongside his responsibilities at WuXi Biologics, Mr. Rivera maintains his affiliation with the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, the Parenteral Drug Association and the Project Management Institute.
Born in Dover, New Jersey and raised in Puerto Rico, Mr. Rivera obtained a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico before earning a Master of Science in Management from Colorado Technical University in 2006. His decision to specialize in project management was heavily influenced by his passion for completing difficult tasks entirely on his own, rather than relying on continuous directives from his superiors.
