In recognition of his dedication, Dr. Timothy G. Lesaca was honored with an On-Time Doctor Award, a Compassionate Doctor Recognition and a Patients' Choice Award.

Dr. Lesaca earned a Doctor of Medicine from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1984 and went on to complete a residency in child psychiatry. Following this accomplishment, he underwent a fellowship in child and adult psychiatry at West Virginia University in 1989. He began his career as a psychiatrist in a private practice in 1989 and subsequently distinguished himself as an adult psychiatrist for a local state hospital for more than a decade. Dr. Lesaca later served as a psychiatrist for Staunton Clinic and worked for the Mercy Trinity Health Care System. Since 2017, he has worked as a child and adolescent psychiatrist for Southwestern Human Services, with an expertise in patients with autism spectrum disorder.
In recognition of his dedication, Dr. Lesaca was honored with an On-Time Doctor Award, a Compassionate Doctor Recognition and a Patients' Choice Award. He also received a teaching award in 2021 for his expertise and mentorship. As part of his dedication to his career, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Allegheny County Medical Society. In addition to his career, Dr. Lesaca has written an article regarding basic research on the mental health status of nurses who are facing the pandemic and the influence of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder on that population.
Dr. Lesaca was inspired to enter the field of medicine by his father, who specialized in surgery. Bearing an interest in psychology, he decided to specialize in psychiatry to help patients living with mental health disorders. He plans to follow through on his research regarding the mental health status of nurses, many of whom have faced the COVID-19 pandemic, to gain a more clear picture of the wellbeing of frontline healthcare providers. Looking toward the future, Dr. Lesaca plans to leverage his research toward helping nurses remain available and prevent a detrimental impact to the healthcare industry.
