Backed by more than 40 years of practiced experience in the fields of information technology and education, Dr. Walker has excelled as the Information Technology Management/Management Information Systems University Department Chair for Keiser University since 2020. In these positions, he has maintained responsibility for curriculum, course objectives and program reviews. Additionally, he serves as information technology management program director at the aforementioned university. Prior to his present posts, he worked as an IT analyst for UC Health, where he coordinated the responsibilities for six technicians and the computer equipment for all users in the UC Health Physician's Regional Office.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Walker gained valuable expertise in the field as an adjunct lead instructor and acting program chair for the IT Program at Antonelli College, acting program chair and managing information technology instructor for the Computer Support Technician Program at Kaplan College, systems administrator for CA Technologies and both the founder and pastor of The Early Church Christian Fellowship. He additionally completed military service in the U.S. Marine Corps. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Walker is affiliated with the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Iota Sigma Tau, as well as a member of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Throughout his career, Dr. Walker has furthered his education, earning an associate's degree in information technology and a Bachelor of Applied Science in information technology from Kaplan University, a master's degree in information technology from Purdue University Global and a DIT from Capella University. Outside of his primary responsibilities, he has dedicated his time and resources to the advisory board of Wendell Krinn Technical High School and as a teacher for Hope for the Children.
Due to his considerable knowledge, Dr. Walker has been published in the Journal of Information Technology and Software Engineering, and earned The Hero from the Hood Award from the Mayor of Cincinnati in 2018. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is incredibly proud of receiving the aforementioned award for service to his community. In the near future, he intends to establish a local church or a nondenominational ministry, as well as connect with organizations such as Big Brother in order to share his insights as an educator. Starting a residential assisted living business with his wife for the elderly population to be able to live independently is something that he hopes to achieve in the future as well.
