Focusing her business on providing organizations with automated or integrative acquisition services, she is an expert in large acquisitions and project recovery, as well as JD Edwards implementations, which is a multifaceted process that involves careful planning to ensure the realization of her clients' best interests. Ms. Marcks formed her business, Barbara Marcks LLC, at the conclusion of her longstanding position with the McKesson Corporation, where she served as vice president of information technology. She presently retains several significant clients, including one that requires her to oversee projects in Asia, India and Europe.
Having attained success over the past two decades, Ms. Marcks is most proud to have cultivated an ability to build teams that complement one another. She has also been willing to adapt to rapidly changing conditions in her field and is a firm believer in mentorship. Garnering a diligent work ethic from her parents, both of whom were major influences on her life, she now strives to pass on her knowledge and experiences to her own children. Notably, Ms. Marcks' daughter works in the software consulting industry, while her son serves as a project manager in commercial construction.
A dedicate advocate on behalf of her local community, Ms. Marcks served as a member of the Reading Buccaneers scholarship committee, Reading Buccaneers Alumni and the Eastern Star Organization. She is also actively working with International Pop/Tenor Ghaleb as his project manager supporting the arts which she loves. Looking toward the future, Ms. Marcks aspires to spend more time volunteering.
Ms. Marcks received an Associate of Arts in information technology. Among her many accomplishments, she developed a unique methodology for assisting other companies in quickly turning around projects that were over budget and behind schedule. Ms. Marcks was also recognized by the McKesson Corporation for her contributions with a President's Award in 2008.
