Dr. Darlington was recognized as the Alumnus of the Year by the Concord University Alumni Association in 2019.

Dr. Darlington serves as a professor of mathematics at Concord University. In this capacity, she teaches mathematics courses, including courses for elementary education students, and assists aspiring mathematics teachers in achieving their goals. Having expanded her educational experience to include teaching online courses, she is a regular presenter at the Eastern Educational Research Association annual conference. Dr. Darlington's career began with her work as a public school teacher.
Dr. Darlington first sought an education at Concord University, from which she obtained a Bachelor of Education in 1998. Following this accomplishment, she earned a Master of Science in mathematics from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2002. Dr. Darlington concluded her academic efforts at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, from which she received a Doctor of Philosophy in educational research and evaluation in 2008.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Dr. Darlington was recognized as the Alumnus of the Year by the Concord University Alumni Association in 2019. Throughout the course of her career, she is most proud to have worked on several mathematics grants on behalf of public schools. As a commitment to her field, Dr. Darlington has held membership with the Eastern Education Research Association and the Girl Scouts of America. Likewise, she served as a program reviewer for mathematics education programs in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In accounting for her success, Dr. Darlington credits the assistance of her dedicated colleagues.
Among her career accomplishments, Dr. Darlington is most proud to have served as a professor at Concord University, from which she obtained her undergraduate degree. In this role, she has found great joy in contributing her skills to students hoping to attain success in their own right. Looking toward the future, Dr. Darlington seeks to revive the mathematics and mathematics education programs at Concord University and work with departmental faculty to ensure excellence in entry-level mathematics courses.
