A seasoned pediatric speech-language pathologist with special interests in Autism, apraxia, brain injuries, early intervention, deaf and hard-of-hearing populations, augmentative alternative communication and feeding, Ms. David excels today as a level II speech-language pathologist with Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. Since 2011, she has provided child and family-centered interventions and evaluations through developmental and behavioral approaches in addition to collaborating with occupational therapists, nutritionists, developmental specialists, teachers and psychologists. Likewise, Ms. David is responsible for mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and offering training in the form of presentations to team members at Rady Children's Hospital.
Prior to her current role, Ms. David worked as a speech-language pathology intern for the Tri-City Medical Center and Poway Unified School District, an undergraduate and graduate research assistant for Laboratory and Language and Cognitive Neuroscience and as a speech-language pathology graduate student intern with San Diego Regional Center. Earlier, she gained valuable expertise as a graduate student clinician with the San Diego State University Speech and Language Clinic and as a READING S.T.A.R.S. facilitator and wee sign instructor for County Speech. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. David is affiliated with the American Speech Hearing Association and the Alexander Graham Bell Association.
An expert in her field, Ms. David earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in speech, language and hearing sciences from San Diego State University. Throughout her career, she has also obtained a certificate of clinical competence through the American Speech Hearing Association, licensure through the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board and CPR and AED certifications through the American Heart Association. She additionally became recognized as an autism spectrum disorder clinical specialist by Evergreen Certifications and completed an auditory verbal practice course through the Institute for Cochlear Implant Training. Within the coming years, Ms. David aims to conduct program development and reach a broader audience.
