Mr. Dillon obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. Following law school graduation, Mr. Dillon joined the United States Army as a Judge Advocate (attorney), where he served for approximately eight (8) years in multiple legal roles including a military prosecutor, a Special Assistant United States Attorney prosecuting civilians in federal court, an administrative law attorney, a supervising administrative law attorney, a Part-Time Military Magistrate, and a supervising Senior Criminal Defense Attorney.
Mr. Dillon left active-duty service in the U.S. Army to accept a position as a federal civilian employee with the Department of the Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana, where he supervised the Administrative and Civil Law Division. In this role, Mr. Dillon was the senior civilian legal advisor to the management and senior command at the Fort Polk military installation.
Mr. Dillon retired from federal civilian service at Fort Polk in 2019 and began providing legal services to the residents of Leesville, Louisiana, and surrounding communities. Since then, Mr. Dillon has been regularly and repeatedly recognized by his clients, colleagues, and legal professional organizations as an outstanding attorney. Mr. Dillon is recognized by two national legal organizations as a top 10 criminal defense attorney for the state of Louisiana, as well as a top 100 criminal defense attorney nationally by a third nationally recognized attorney ranking organization.
Throughout his career, Mr. Dillon has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. He has been or currently is a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, the Louisiana State Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section, the National Association of Public Defenders, the Louisiana Association of Public Defenders, the National Employment Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Though he has accomplished much, he is most professionally proud of his lifetime service to those who face adversities in life, including the underserved and underprivileged.
Mr. Dillon's greatest pride and joy come from his 30 plus year marriage and from his role as father to his three, now adult, young men. Mr. Dillon attributes his success to hard work and to the love and support of his wife, who worked to put him through law school and who has continued to be his emotional rock and caring partner through life's trials and tribulations.
