Dr. Connie Dunn is a fellow of the Texas Environmental Health Association
HURST, TX, March 01, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Connie Dunn has been included in Marquis Who's Who. An expert in her field, Dr. Dunn initially earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Texas Tech University. She subsequently obtained a master's degree in microbiology from Abilene Christian University and a degree in medical technology from Lackland Air Force Base Wilford Hall Medical Facility. Dr. Dunn concluded her formal education at Texas Tech University, from which she graduated with a master's degree in analytical chemistry and a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry. She is a certified pharmacy technician, Registered Sanitarian, and a licensed On-Site Sewage Facility site evaluator.
During the early years of her career, Dr. Dunn gained valuable expertise in characterizing microbes in petroleum tank samples, clinical pathology laboratory testing, forensic drug testing (urine toxicology) as well as in an environmental laboratory. She additionally managed a cholesterol testing standardization program. She provided clinical lab services in Cuba. She led the way developing quality assurance programs in her clinical, toxicological, and environmental laboratories as well as performing laboratory inspections/program assessments. Dr. Dunn trained food handlers and inspected food stores, pools, hotels, bars, mobile vendors, day care centers, and restaurants while working as a consumer health specialist. For many years, she was a speaker at the Environmental Protection Agency Region VI Quality Assurance conference. She was a key member of the City of Fort Worth Lead and Copper Team – gaining State acceptance of her lab's tests for numerous public water systems' compliance testing. Drawing upon her considerable experience, Dr. Dunn currently excels as an adjunct professor of chemistry and biology for Tarrant County College and a laboratory supervisor specializing in quality assurance for the City of Fort Worth, with which she has served for 20 years.
Driven to remain aware of changes in her field, Dr. Dunn is affiliated with the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the American Association of Clinical Chemists, the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Committee, the American Society for Microbiology, the American Academy of Forensic Scientists, the Society of Forensic Toxicologists, the American Legion, and the Texas On-Site Wastewater Association, to name a few organizations. In light of her professional excellence, she ensured her team received a Samuel J. Crumbine Award and she is a fellow of the Texas Environmental Health Association and a member of The NELAC Institute (TNI). Within the coming years, Dr. Dunn intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career.
