Driven to become a doctor at a young age, Dr. Collins earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, where she later graduated with a Doctor of Medicine. Subsequently, she completed a residency in Family Medicine and became licensed to practice in the states of Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia and South Carolina. During the early years of her career, she gained valuable expertise in private practice clinics as a physician. More recently, Dr. Collins worked as physician and owner of Temple Health & Wellness Center/Medical Weight Loss of Cool Springs. Drawing on her considerable excellence, she currently excels as Medical Director with MDLIVE Inc.
Throughout her career, Dr. Collins has also served as a consultant for several private clinics, the associate director at a local college, a forensic chemist with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, an expert witness for the U.S. Department of Immigration and a researcher with the University of Cincinnati. Due to her considerable expertise, Dr. Collins has been featured on numerous television shows and co-authored several works on dermatology and physiology.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Collins is affiliated with the Obesity Medicine Association, the American Academy of Family Medicine, the Kentucky Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association. Alongside her primary responsibilities, she is active as a spokesperson for the Online Conference on Diabetic Effects of Kidney Disease as well as a volunteer, spokesperson and presenter for the Alzheimer's Association. Dr. Collins was also appointed as the chairperson for African American initiatives with the American Diabetes Association.
In light of her outstanding achievements, Dr. Collins was presented with the Emil & Esther Bogen Research Award from the University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine and First Place Dermatology Award from the National Medical Student Research Forum. Even though her career has been filled with highlights, she is incredibly proud of establishing the Temple Health & Wellness Center and teaching nurse practitioners, medical assistants and students. Within the coming years, Dr. Collins intends to continue her stellar work as a physician, focus on telehealth and become more involved in her community.
