BENTONVILLE, AR, March 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bill Lee has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having distinguished himself for more than three decades in the field of information systems, Mr. Lee retired from his primary career track to focus on his true passion of historical research. A long-time fan of baseball, he focused his studies accordingly and traveled throughout the United States, collecting a wealth of information on virtually every player who had participated in a major league game between 1876 and 2004. Fascinated by the post-game life of players, he dedicated much of his research to obituaries, which served as primary source documentation in tracking the activities of athletes following their departure from the sport. Mr. Lee's examination of this seldom-studied subject reached fruition in 2004 with the publishing of "The Baseball Necrology," being an incredibly thorough resource on the lives of more than 7,600 deceased major league baseball players, as well as their post-game careers.
In addition to functioning as a reference text on major league athletes, "The Baseball Necrology" also highlights the lives of team owners, managers, umpires, sportswriters, Negro League players, announcers and broadcasters. Moreover, Mr. Lee's research did not slow with the release of his book; his website, thebbnlive.com, serves as a vast database of information on the lives of baseball players who died between 1876 and 2014. Other websites to his credit include baseballundertaker.com and extensive genealogical databases regarding his father's family, oswaldrelations.com, and that of his wife at fodgerelations.com.
Prior to his work in genealogy and historical research, Mr. Lee excelled as a systems analyst at Bourns, Inc., from 1977 to 1987, after which he excelled as the owner of Diablo Data Services, Inc. During the course of his formal education, he earned a scholarship to attend the University of California Berkeley. Years later, he attained a Bachelor of Science in engineering science from Arizona State University and a master's degree in business from California State Polytechnic University. Furthermore, Mr. Lee has completed coursework toward a master's degree in history at Utah State University.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Lee hopes to continue his extensive research into the genealogy of both his family and that of his late wife, LaVonne, having already published nearly 40 books on the subject. Reflecting on his own life, he is proud to have remained productive and to have raised four wonderful children who went on to have extensive families in their own right. He has 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
