Mr. Cones continues to lecture on the subject of independent film finance for UCLA Extension.
In 2021, Mr. Cones was honored with the annual Texas Star Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas' Entertainment Law Institute for outstanding achievement in the field of entertainment law. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (1967) and UT Law School (1974).
