GULFPORT, MS, March 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John S. Garner has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Garner served honorably in the United States Navy as a surface warfare officer from 1985 to 1995. Overall, he served as Operations and Mine Hunting Officer on forward deployed USS ENHANCE (MSO 437) during Operation Earnest Will where US minesweepers cleared and identified Iranian laid mines that targeted and struck USS ROBERTS (FFG 58). Subsequently, he served in the South China Sea on forward deployed USS STERETT (CG 31). He returned to New Orleans and retired.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Northwestern University in 1985 and went on to attain a Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin in 1995. Well qualified in his field, Mr. Garner subsequently earned a Master of Laws in admiralty from Tulane Law School in 1997.
Mr. Garner began his career as a prosecutor in Wisconsin and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Black (D.N.M) in 1997. He worked in New Orleans as an associate for various firms and specialized in maritime litigation. He expanded his practice to the Gulf Coast in 2005 and now practices in the Southern District of Texas and currently acts as staff counsel for Scialdone Law Firm, PLLC. Furthermore, he is a member of the bar associations of Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Wisconsin. In addition to his main career, Mr. Garner contributes to his community as a member of VFW Post 8973.
