Dorothy Faller has accepted the title of Social Worker of the Year for her inimitable work on the Cleveland unit of the International Federation of Social Workers.

After completing coursework at Illinois Wesleyan University and obtaining a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois, Ms. Faller earned a master's degree in social administration from Case Western Reserve University. She began her career as a child welfare worker for the Klamath County Public Welfare Commission, a role in which she flourished for close to a decade. Soon thereafter, she garnered experience as a social service consultant for the Ohio State Department of Public Welfare and a research assistant at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
From 1981 to 1999, Ms. Faller found success as the executive director of the Cleveland International Program. In this post, she touched the lives of over 400 international professionals in her training programs, a feat of which she is exceptionally proud. Renowned for her success, she served as the chief executive officer and secretary general for the Council of International Programs USA for a number of years and the president of Faller International Training for more than 10 years. Throughout her career, she has been active as an international trainer for social workers and other professionals in the fields of management and social work, in addition to providing service to numerous nonprofit organizations.
Passionate about bettering the lives of others and fighting prejudice, Ms. Faller has been involved in an extensive network of boards and committees aimed towards promoting social justice, having held various administrative positions for these organizations. She currently excels as a worker toward social justice for the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, and board member for both the Carolyn Lynn Farrell Foundation and the Anti-Fracking Group of the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church. Likewise, she has previously been appointed as a delegate for the National Delegate Assembly and the International Federation of Social Workers.
In 2021, Ms. Faller notably created the Listening Project on Anti-Racism. With expertise in social work, social action, sustainable living, and fossil fuel reduction, she has been distinguished with numerous honorary titles, awards and grants. She has been recognized as an honorary lifetime member of the Cleveland Rotary and the Fulbright Association. Moreover, she has accepted the title of Social Worker of the Year for her inimitable work on the Cleveland unit of the International Federation of Social Workers.
