SANDIA, TX, March 11, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stephen Eric Lagerberg, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Lagerberg earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration from Ashford University in 2011 and 2014, respectively, where he graduated summa cum laude. He then graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in General Psychology with an emphasis in Performance Psychology from Grand Canyon University in 2021. During his academic career, Dr. Lagerberg was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society, Salute Veterans Honor Society, and Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology. He is also a member of the American Psychological Association Division 47 Society for Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology. Additionally, he currently holds a Secret Clearance from the U.S. Department of Defense, a CTO from the FAA, as well as an AATCC and ARATC certification from the U.S. Navy.
Dr. Lagerberg began his career as a Sergeant for the Kentucky Department of Corrections in 2004, at the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center. In 2006, he worked as a Corrections Officer for the Louisville Metro Government before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 2007 as an Air Traffic Controller in support of the Global War on Terror. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, he was appointed as an Air Traffic Control Supervisor for DynCorp International in 2020, where he worked as a contractor in Bagram, Afghanistan contributing to the safe withdrawal of troops; all while earning his three degrees during his service and finishing up as a contractor.
Since 2021, Dr. Lagerberg has excelled as an Air Traffic Controller for Robinson Aviation Inc. Furthermore, he is an Adjunct Professor at Grand Canyon University. In addition to his career, he is the author of "A Descriptive Study of Burnout in Military Air Traffic Controllers," which was published through ProQuest Dissertations and listed on Google Scholar.
In recognition of his stellar professional efforts, Dr. Lagerberg has been honored with four Navy Achievement Medals, a Sea Service Ribbon, three Good Conduct Medals, and the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal. He credits his success to the support he received from his wife, who saw potential in him that he was not able to see in himself. He would also like to recognize his five children who supported him along the way while he homeschooled, coached, and guided them throughout this journey. He plans to continue his career by shifting his attention toward consulting and youth coaching, while continuing his service in academia.
