Carrie Peery plans to continue her leadership work well into the future, and hopes to create resources for training teens in gaining leadership skills.

With over 25 years of experience leading young people in their educational careers, Ms. Peery was named as the director of the Franchell Boswell Educational Foundation in 2021. Additionally, she was elected to serve as the president of the Top Ladies of Distinction for the Las Vegas Starlight chapter after almost 15 years of membership. Passionate about helping teens reach their full potential, as well as senior citizens, Ms. Peery leverages her tireless work in the organizations she leads to help people obtain the resources they need to enrich their lives.
Ms. Peery began her distinguished career studying at San Diego State University, where she received a bachelor's degree in education before attending Pepperdine University to earn a master's degree in the same subject. During this period, she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, as well as the Links Inc. In 1991, Ms. Peery was honored with the San Diego Regional Conference for Women Award, in addition to being named among the Women of Distinction.
Ms. Peery would go on to serve for more than 15 years as the principal of the Hamilton School, where she nurtured her love of mentoring young people. An active member of her community, she is most proud of her inspiring work with students, which includes fundraising for college scholarships and encouraging the local youth to participate in community service and take advantage of all the resources available to them.
Throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Peery has been especially steadfast in securing resources on behalf of the Las Vegas community. To wit, she spearheaded donation drives for food, water and masks, worked closely with the Doolittle Senior Center and advocated for seniors to convince city officials to increase accessibility for their health and safety needs.
Living by the motto of "do the best you can each day," Ms. Peery attributes her success to the example set by her parents' vigorous work ethic and dedication in serving their community. She is also driven by her genuine love of young people, as well as her determination to assist seniors. Ms. Peery plans to continue her leadership work well into the future, and hopes to create resources for training teens in gaining leadership skills.
