With a career in clinical pathology spanning over 35 years, Dr. Wasdahl has served as the chairman of pathology at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, since 1994. He also has an academic appointment at NEOMED in Rootstown, Ohio as Clinical Professor of Pathology. His story began at the University of North Dakota, where he received a Bachelor of Science and an MD in 1983 and 1987, respectively. There, he was also inducted into the honorable societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha. Upon graduation, Dr. Wasdahl began a fellowship and residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Dr. Wasdahl attributes much of his success to his parents, who came of age during the Great Depression and taught him the value of realistic self-appraisal. Furthermore, he is dedicated to his role as an educator, having earned 30 teaching awards over the course of his distinguished career.
In addition to his achievements as a pathologist and educator, Mr. Wasdahl is an accomplished circus performer. A noted juggler, equilibrist and teacher of circus theater, his work in the performing arts has been featured in Ripley's Believe It or Not. Dr. Wasdahl's other hobbies include autocross racing, of which he is a six-time national champion.
