MIDDLETON, WI, March 11, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Chris Larson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Driven to pursue a career in service to others, Dr. Larson earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Iowa's Carver College of Medicine in 1978. He subsequently completed his residency in psychiatry through Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center/Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, New Hampshire and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City in 1980 and 1982, respectively. During this time, he also studied at the University of Iowa's College of Public Health and obtained a Master of Science in Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health specializing in Psychiatric Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Upon completing his Master's degree, Dr. Larson further refined his skills through a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has been licensed to practice medicine in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin. He is also double Board Certified in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Moreover, Dr. Larson excelled as a General, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatrist and was a founding member of the Riverside Psychiatric Group, S.C. where he served for many years before he helped facilitate the clinic's transition to Bellin Health Riverside Psychiatric Group in 2016. He has also been an active member of the Wisconsin Medical Society as a regular representative to the House of Delegates from the Brown County Medical Society Executive Committee where he also served two terms as President.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Larson continues to be affiliated with Phi Beta Kappa. For his outstanding work in the field, he earned the National Research Service Award during the early 1980s. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he is incredibly proud of being trained to be a researcher who is also an expert clinician in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry. Looking ahead, Dr. Larson aims to enjoy his retirement, continue his lifelong pursuit of songwriting and music production, begin traveling the world with his wife, and spending time with family.
