Passionate about helping children connect with music, Mr. Geocaris was instrumental in developing an online learning curriculum for students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Having been raised by a family of educators, Mr. Geocaris harnessed his passion for sharing music to become an instructor in the subject. He obtained a bachelor's degree in music education from Carthage College and a master's degree in music from Georgia State University. Mr. Geocaris began his career as a general music and beginner band teacher at Crabapple Crossing Elementary School.
Mr. Geocaris garnered experience as the orchestra director for the Tri Cities High School prior to accepting a position as a music teacher at Cobb County Schools. He has flourished in this role since 2012, in addition to having worked as a private low brass teacher since 2002. In this capacity, he teaches six classes daily and directs an after-school choir weekly, while tending to the full spectrum of his students' music development. To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Geocaris serves as a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Music Educators Association and the group Educators First. For his devotion to his work, he has earned much recognition, including first place in the elementary division of the Lowell Mason House National Competition for Virtual Music Lesson Plans in 2021. Likewise, he has been part of the Cobb County Schools Teacher Leader Academy and has been distinguished as the Teacher of the Year by Rocky Mountain Elementary School. In accounting for his success, Mr. Geocaris credits his tendency to seek new experiences and opportunities that he can provide to students and stoke their appreciation for the art of music. Looking toward the future, he aspires to advance in the field of fine arts administration at the district level and maintain the role of fine arts as an inspiring influence in the lives of others.
