KANSAS CITY, MO, March 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paula R. Schumacher has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Schumacher earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, with minors in journalism and social studies from Fort Hays State University, and attained a Master of Arts in journalism from Kansas State University in 1974.
She began her career in education as a high school journalism teacher and moved on to become a Professor at Park University in Parkville, MO. Her initial stint into grant writing resulted because of that position. Her department's lack of funds propelled her to write her first grant to help her students. As a result, the grant-writing and fundraising bug captured her.
She stepped aside from formal classroom education and became the owner of a community newspaper, where she hired various university students. Subsequently, she became Director of Development at Tri-County Mental Health, specializing in writing grants. Twenty (20) years ago, Ms. Schumacher opened a grant writing and fundraising consulting business, P&S Smart Marketing and Fundraising.
She helped establish nonprofit organizations and was honored with a Fund Raising Executive certification in 2010, a position renewed every three years. Her background in writing and organization has led her to write grants for clients in Missouri, Kansas, and Texas. In addition, she writes grants to raise funds internationally, specifically in Haiti, Guatemala, and Cuba. Organizations such as the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association in Dallas, Texas, Pathways of Healing Counseling in St. Joseph, MO, the Global Birthing Home Foundation and Pathways of Hope in Kansas, and the Northland Shepherd's Center in Kansas City, Missouri, have worked with Ms. Schumacher.
She has presented on fundraising topics at the local, regional, and national levels.
Continuing with her news and feature-writing skills, she serves as the editor of the Hannah News, a national newsletter for the USS Hancock CV/CVA-19 Association.
With strengths in writing, public relations, and marketing, Paula helps new 501 (c) 3 and long-time nonprofit agencies build recognition intending to secure dollars for individuals touched by their mission.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Schumacher plans to continue writing grants, mentoring grant writers, and becoming a grant reviewer.
