Ms. Lorsbach serves as the county attorney for Clearwater County, Minnesota. Appointed to her position in 2021, she works out of her office in Bagley and is one of the youngest county attorneys in the state. As chief prosecutor, she oversees all criminal law proceedings throughout the county, prosecuting offenders in court for a wide range of crimes, including those facing such felony charges as murder, sexual assault, and high-level drug charges. Ms. Lorsbach handles various civil matters, including child support, civil commitments, child protection matters and delinquencies. Furthermore, she serves as a legal advisor to the Clearwater County Board of Commissioners, county department heads, and other county agencies advising them on various other matters pertaining to public service.
Proud to have led meaningful career, Ms. Lorsbach previously worked as a public defender for the Ninth District between 2017 and 2021. She clerked for the Honorable Judge Jonathan Jasper, with whom she competed her judicial clerkship in Anoka County. Prior to passing the bar, Ms. Lorsbach spent two years as a paralegal for Tarrant and Liska PLLC, and clerked as a student attorney for the public defender's office.
Dedicated to her local community, Ms. Lorsbach has been a public servant representing the indigent clients of Clearwater, Hubbard, and Beltrami. She is an alumni member of Alpha Xi Delta, a current member of Tuesday Night Study Club, and a proud patron of the Humane Society, Wildwoods, and Act V. Ms. Lorsbach sits on the Northern Region Board.
Ms. Lorsbach obtained a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government at the University of Minnesota in Twin Cities in 2012. She subsequently received a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, at William Mitchell College of Law in 2015. She was recognized by her alma mater, William Mitchell College of Law, with a Public Service Award upon her graduation. Ms. Lorsbach aspires to continue to grow in her role as County Attorney, and hopes eventually to become a judge. In accounting for her success, Ms. Lorsbach credits the drive and work ethic instilled by her parents and the support of her husband.
