Mrs. Boling-Davis' involvement in so many educational activities is a testament to her passion for teaching children.
LEIGHTON, AL, March 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Petrina Boling-Davis with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mrs. Boling-Davis celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With more than 25 years of teaching experience to her credit, Mrs. Boling-Davis is the 2019 recipient of WZDX FOX 54 Valley's Top Teacher Award. Her past honors include recognition as the 2019 Teacher of the Year at Hazlewood Elementary School, 2019 Lawrence County Teacher of the Year and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Teacher of the Year, as well as receiving a "Tools for Teacher's" Award from WHNT 19 News.
Her career as an educator began after she received a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Albany State University, and a master's degree from the University of North Alabama. Since then, Mrs. Boling-Davis has served as a reading teacher in Lawrence County, Alabama, teaching fourth, fifth and sixth graders at Hazlewood Elementary School. Previously, she spent 17 years at R.A. Hubbard School in Courtland, Alabama.
Mrs. Boling-Davis bears a particular passion for Black history. Notably, when a principal from another school in Lawrence County visited to watch her students' Black History Program, she was so impressed that she invited them to perform at various events throughout the county. In addition to classroom teaching, Mrs. Boling-Davis maintains involvement as the owner of her own tutoring business called "Tutoring On Wheels", while also tutoring as part of her membership with Women Inspiring Women in Decatur, Alabama. She also coaches Hazlewood Lyrical Dance Team, and hopes to continue her part-time role as a dance teacher in the future. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team had the honor of performing at the Memphis Grizzlies NBA game in addition to performances at various football games, various parades, Strawberry Festivals and other local events.
Mrs. Boling-Davis' involvement in so many educational activities is a testament to her passion for teaching children. Looking toward the future, Mrs. Boling-Davis hopes to retire from education and continue making a difference in her community by growing her tutoring business.
She is married to Robert Davis. She has two daughters, Shaterika Boling and Lasebre Boling and two granddaughters: Heaven Daniels and Aubreigh Stewart. She is mentored by Jewel Satchel and Denise Stovall whom are both leaders and educators in the Courtland, Alabama community.
