After gaining valuable expertise with the Suboxone Addiction Outreach Clinic, he channeled his expertise in addiction medicine to his work with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he remains active as an emergency medicine specialist in the trauma center.
Before starting on his professional journey, Dr. Loflen earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California, San Diego. Following this accomplishment, he received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed a residency through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a certification in emergency medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Loflen subsequently became licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Loflen aligns himself with the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Physicians and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. In recognition of his considerable achievements, he received the Best Research Award and the Josie King Good Catch Award through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In a career that has been filled with highlights, he is most proud to have expanded his expertise to the field of addiction medicine.
