A seasoned expert with two decades of expertise in employee and labor relations, international business, financial management and more, Ms. Alleyne began her career as a Health Services Manager on Rikers Island. Between 2000 and 2010, she supervised the health care of a highly compromised population, saved costs in excess of 20%, managed employee and labor relations from performance management to counseling, mediation and more, and achieved a 95% employee retention rate, which she maintained for several years.
During her time with the Connecticut Department of Corrections, Ms. Alleyne gained valuable experience as a Health Services Administrator for Correctional Managed Health Care under the University of Connecticut, through which she honed her expertise in correctional operations, performance and talent calibration, payroll administration, contract interpretation and workplace safety. Presently she excels as an adjunct criminal justice professor for Monroe College and as the Founder and President of the Civilian Corrections Academy. Likewise, Ms. Alleyne is a service contracts and warranty manager for Pratt & Whitney, where she manages a $250 million GTF Warranty reserve, collaborates with a wide range of programs and supports clients in national and international time zones.
An expert in her field, Ms. Alleyne holds a Bachelor of Arts in African studies from Stony Brook University, a Master of Public Health from Long Island University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, a certificate in diversity and inclusion from Cornell University and an advanced business certificate in human resource management from the University of Connecticut Business School. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the Middle Atlantic States Correctional Association, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care and the American Correctional Association.
Due to her outstanding breadth of knowledge, Ms. Alleyne authored "The Cage Was Her Cocoon: A Journey from Prison Administrator to Entrepreneur." While her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud to have created a path for herself and to have learned a tremendous amount about complex work environments, which she was able to integrate into her work.
