Prior to beginning her career, Ms. Lance served honorably as a senior airman for the United States Air Force for 10 years. When pursuing her education, she earned a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Georgia State University and a Master of Science from the University of Phoenix in 2019. Certified as a progressive critical care nurse, she has further obtained a personal training certification from the American Council of Exercise. Ms. Lance currently excels as a care coordination administrator for the University of Florida Health-Jacksonville.
In her present role, Ms. Lance is the administrator for the transitional care management and care coordination teams. She ensures that when a patient is discharged from the hospital, they have all of the resources needed to be placed with their primary care provider within the first 14 days after their discharge, a time that is most crucial for their care. She leads her teams in more than 30 clinics to coordinate with the patient to maintain their health after leaving the clinic. She also serves as a point of contact for other administrators and negotiates contracts. In recognition for her expertise, she was honored with a Lean Sigma Award and a Daisy Award. To support her community, Ms. Lance is a volunteer for the homeless population in her area.
Ms. Lance originally became interested in her field to become a pathologist and was pursuing her education in the medical field. She decided to serve in the United States Air Force, which was the launching point for her career. Ms. Lance plans to complete her certification for a professional in healthcare quality and is looking into pursuing a doctoral degree in public health in the coming years.
