For more than 26 years, Dr. Wells found success as a certified nutrition specialist and the founder of Wellspring Integrated Health Care. Prior to her retirement, she harnessed her expertise in alternative medicine and nutrition to provide natural therapies for emotional problems as well as various autoimmune, gut, allergy, and inflammatory disorders. In addition to nutraceuticals, metabolic supplements, botanicals, and organic food, Dr. Wells regularly utilized yoga, reiki therapy, and acupressure to help her patients restore their health.
Dr. Wells' interest in medicine was heavily inspired by her beautiful, talented, and loving sister's harrowing struggle with schizophrenia and her own paralyzing fears of becoming schizophrenic also. She established Wellspring Integrated Health Care after conducting extensive research on the role of nutrition in mental health, particularly depression and anxiety. Prior to her career as a nutrition specialist, Dr. Wells excelled as an educator at several local colleges and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in biology with majors in cell physiology and biochemistry. She also did post-doctoral research in neurobiology.
Dr. Wells attributes a great deal of her success to:
