Ms. Schulze has excelled as the president of People First Economy/Local First of West Michigan since 2020, a position in which she helps business owners become more proactive in their communities. She also focuses her time on developing and maintaining relationships with those who can contribute to the betterment of the state of Michigan. Additionally active as the organization's primary fundraising executive, Ms. Schulze manages all of the administrative tasks, including human resources, payroll, and internal policies and procedures.
Affiliated with People First Economy/Local First of West Michigan for nearly 10 years, Ms. Schulze formerly worked as a program and fund development manager from 2013 to 2019. She has likewise served as the president of the board of directors of the Garfield Park Neighborhood Association since 2019, having previously been appointed as the vice president from 2017 to 2019. Ms. Schulze was also recruited as the economic chairperson of the Corridor Improvement Authority of Grand Rapids.
Ms. Schulze began to appreciate the importance of community and the support of other business owners as her parents were both successful opticians that owned a small business together for many years. During her collegiate studies, she also completed several internships in event planning for several municipalities. Ms. Schulze notably earned a Bachelor of Science in hospitality and tourism management/marketing from Grand Valley State University in 2012.
Notably, Ms. Schulze was honored with a 40 Under 40 Award, recognized among the Business Leaders for Michigan by the Grand Rapids Business Journal in 2020, and was named among the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan in 2022.
