HONOLULU, HI, March 25, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Darin M. Ujimori has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Ujimori initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in business from the University of Hawaii before obtaining a professional diploma in secondary music from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1997. A certified band teacher, he has found success at George Washington Middle School since 2013. Mr. Ujimori is also active as a committee member for the Dr. William P. Foster Project.
In his present role, Mr. Ujimori is responsible for band activities for the beginning, intermediate and advanced band groups. He conducts 10 to 20 performances per year, although no band performances were allowed during the COVID-19 pandemic. In recognition for his expertise, Mr. Ujimori's band was selected as the western division winner of the Band of Excellence Award from the Dr. William P. Foster Project in 2018.
Passionate about music and teaching, Mr. Ujimori entered his field to combine those two interests. He initially aspired to become a professional musician, but decided to teach instead after volunteering at several schools to help with their music programs.
